Refunds for transactions paid by credit card, regardless of the amount, will be credited to the account on the day the cancellation is approved. Youth members between the ages of 12-15, with parent / guardian authorization, must complete a free youth fitness center orientation prior to utilizing the fitness center.Adult fitness class participants must be 16 years of age or older.Children eight and under must be accompanied by a responsible person age 14 or older.Register early as many of our classes reach capacity due to popularity. Please register at least three working days prior to the start date of a class. Personal conduct situations that are not covered by other provisions not stated in the above items #1-8 will be dealt with in an appropriate manner by the Assistant Parks and Recreation Director. Entering, using, or accessing the facility or program illegally such as using an assumed name or going through an authorized entrance.Failing to cooperate and respond honestly to injuries or requests for assistance in identifying individuals who may be involved in incidents.Stealing from an MCC employee, participant, spectator, or guest.Acting in a way which would cause equipment or facility damage (including spitting, snorting), and/or injury to a person.Verbally abusing an MCC employee, participant, spectator or guest.Threatening physical harm towards an MCC employee, participant, spectator, or guest.Sexually harassing, assaulting, or any sort of sexual misconduct towards an MCC employee, participant, spectator, or guest.Hitting, striking, or pushing an MCC employee, participant, spectator, or guest.Decisions for suspension may be appealed to the Parks and Recreation Director and then to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.Īnyone who commits, incites, or aids others in committing any of the following acts of unsportsmanlike or misconduct shall be subjected to disciplinary procedures. ![]() They will not be permitted to the building until that meeting has taken place. Those who are ejected from a program or facility area for any reason are not entitled to a refund of any fees paid.Īfter ejection, it is the responsibility of the participant to schedule an appointment with the Assistant Director to review his/her behavior and subsequent eligibility to participate in any MCC program or to utilize facilities. If a participant or spectator in the Merriam Community Center (MCC) is ejected or suspended from any facility (indoor or outdoor), program, contest, or activity, they are immediately ineligible for further access or participation in any program or facility until they are cleared by the Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation and the supervisor of the department in which the misconduct occurred. Guests who do not abide by the policies and procedures may be ejected or suspended from the center. It is because of this commitment that the policies and procedures in regards to behavior and misconduct will be strictly enforced.
